MARISA BERENSON

Born in New York and the granddaughter of fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli, Berenson has built a career spanning more than six decades in fashion and film. With the backing of Diana Vreeland, she became one of the defining faces of the late 1960s and 1970s, working with some of the great couturiers of the twentieth century, including Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino and Azzedine Alaïa, and posing for such photographic masters as Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, David Bailey and Helmut Newton. At the height of her fame as a model, she was cast by Luchino Visconti in Death in Venice (1971), with Bob Fosse going on to direct her in Cabaret (1972). Her performance as Natalia Landauer won her the National Board of Review award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations. Stanley Kubrick also cast her as Lady Honoria Lyndon in Barry Lyndon (1975), and she later worked with Blake Edwards, Clint Eastwood and Luca Guadagnino.
