Doubts, the major exhibition that the MOP Foundation is dedicating to Paolo Roversi, is open until 20 September 2026. The exhibition, which brings together iconic masterworks and previously unseen images, offers an intimate journey through his career whilst celebrating his decisive influence on the language of fashion photography.

Over four decades, Paolo Roversi has forged a photographic language that is entirely his own. He has an almost uncanny ability to extend the life of his images. As the critic Vince Aletti has said ‘many of Paolo’s best pictures appear to come together before our eyes… his work is so vibrant that it can’t be confined to the page or the wall’.

Roversi has chosen the title Doubts for his MOP Foundation exhibition because for him doubt is ‘the open door to creativity and imagination whereas certainty closes that door.’ Doubts brings together many of the characteristic elements of Paolo’s approach including his abiding fascination with the experimental possibilities of Polaroid.

With ‘Doubts’, the MOP Centre’s building has been transformed into a network of interconnected sections, each expressing a different aspect of Roversi’s aesthetic: Theatre, Appearances, Shadows, Doubts, People, Presence, Grace, Beauty and Fading. Taken together, they illustrate the dizzying breadth of Roversi’s technical mastery as well as the singularity of his vision and his almost religious conviction that beauty is to be found in silence, in the shadows and the spaces between things.
